Say the obvious thing first: our usual argument does not work here. Modjo hosts customer data in France, on AWS in the Paris region, and is SOC 2 Type II certified. If you are picking between us on European data residency, you are picking between two European answers, and you should ignore that row entirely.

Choose Garba if your revenue team sells in the Nordics. Swedish and Finnish call accuracy, a Swedish product surface, and MEDDPICC-level CRM auto-fill are what we built the product around.

Choose Modjo if France or Southern Europe is your centre of gravity. They are the established French answer, with the installed base and the French-language depth that comes from being built there.

Garba

Garba is a sales-native AI platform built in Malmö for European revenue teams. It joins every call, writes the deal context into the CRM at field level, drafts the follow-up as the call ends, and scores the conversation against your playbook. It transcribes 125 languages and processes 100% of customer data in the EU by default.

Modjo

Modjo is a Paris-based revenue intelligence platform, describing itself as turning every conversation into actionable data. It captures calls, meetings and emails, automates CRM entry and surfaces deal insight for revenue teams. Modjo states that customer data is hosted in France on AWS servers in the Paris region, holds SOC 2 Type II, and offers transcription in 100+ languages.

More than usual. These are two products solving the same problem for the same buyer on the same continent, and pretending otherwise would not survive a trial.

  • European data hosting, stated by both. Modjo in France, Garba across the EU.

  • Sales-native by design, not a general notetaker with a CRM connector bolted on.

  • Automatic CRM entry from conversations, into HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive.

  • Broad transcription coverage — 125 languages on our side, 100+ on theirs.

  • Deal and pipeline intelligence drawn from what was actually said on calls.

  • Pricing on request rather than a public price list, on both sides.

Home market — the difference that actually shows up in a trial

    Garba

Garba was built in Malmö around how Nordic teams sell. That shows up in the small things: the product surface exists in Swedish, the models were tuned on Swedish and Finnish calls, and the customer references your team can call are companies like BIMobject, Vainu, Playipp and Nimblr.

If your reps run their calls in Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian or Danish, this is the row that decides the trial. Not compliance, not feature count.

    Modjo

Modjo is the established French answer, headquartered in Paris with the installed base to match, and their product is offered in French as well as English. For a team whose calls are in French, that focus is a real advantage and it is the mirror image of ours.

Both of us transcribe well over a hundred languages. Broad coverage and a model tuned on your market are different claims, and the second one is what you should test.

Data residency — genuinely a draw

    Garba

Garba processes 100% of customer data in the EU by default, with nothing to configure and a DPA provided as standard. Garba AI AB is a Swedish company.

    Modjo

Modjo's trust centre states that customer data is hosted in France, on AWS servers in the Paris region, encrypted in transit and at rest, with SOC 2 Type II certification.

So if you arrived here from a "GDPR-compliant alternative to Gong" search, both of us clear that bar. Score this row as a tie and spend the evaluation on something that will actually differentiate.

CRM depth and the shape of the integration

    Garba

Garba writes the fields your playbook actually uses — MEDDPICC, next steps, stakeholders, custom properties — natively into HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive, plus an MCP server, REST API and webhooks for everything else. The rep does no data entry and the record reflects what was said.

    Modjo

Modjo automates CRM entry too, and supports a longer list of CRMs than we do: HubSpot, Salesforce, Dynamics 365, Pipedrive, Sellsy and Zoho are all named on their site. If you run Dynamics, Sellsy or Zoho, that breadth is a straightforward reason to pick them, and we would rather tell you than have you discover it in week two.

Pricing transparency, or the lack of it on both sides

    Garba

Garba's pricing is custom and quoted against your team size and CRM. We are not going to pretend that is a differentiator.

    Modjo

Modjo does not publish prices either. Their pricing page is a contact form asking for team size and CRM, and it notes the product is "optimal from 3 sales reps".

Third-party sites do circulate Modjo price figures. Treat those as unverified — they are not on Modjo's own site, and we are not going to repeat a number about a competitor that the competitor has not published.

    In their words

We had Gong before, and the reps never really adopted it. With Garba, it became part of how they work in the first week - and the team treats us like a partner, not a ticket.

Garba is creating more value for us than any other software in our tech stack right now. It has become such an integral part of how we work that it would be the very last tool I would want to replace.

Before Garba, my CSMs spent their days buried in notes and follow-ups. Now AI handles the busywork, and they finally have space to think strategically about their accounts again.

  • Choose Garba whenyour calls happen in Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian or Danish; you want a Swedish product surface for your reps; MEDDPICC-level CRM hygiene is the job to be done; you want Nordic customer references you can actually phone.

  • Choose Modjo whenFrance or Southern Europe is your main market; your calls are in French; you run Dynamics 365, Sellsy or Zoho as the CRM; you want the vendor with the longest track record in the French market.

  • Ignorethe EU-hosting row. Both of us host in Europe, and any comparison that makes residency the headline between these two products is selling you something.

    • Yes. Modjo's own trust centre states that customer data is hosted in France, on AWS servers in the Paris region, encrypted in transit and at rest, and that they hold SOC 2 Type II certification alongside GDPR compliance. On this dimension Modjo is a European answer in the same way Garba is, and we would not argue otherwise.

    • Modjo does not publish prices. Their pricing page is a contact form asking for team size and CRM, and states the product is optimal from three sales reps upwards. Figures quoted on third-party comparison sites are not from Modjo, so treat them as unverified until Modjo quotes you directly.

    • Modjo states transcription in over 100 languages, so Nordic languages fall inside that coverage. Broad coverage and a model tuned for a market are different things, though, and the honest way to settle it is to run the same Swedish or Finnish call through both tools and compare the transcripts and the CRM fields that come out. That is the test we would want you to run.

    • Garba integrates natively with HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive, plus Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Slack, with an MCP server, REST API and webhooks for anything else. Modjo names HubSpot, Salesforce, Dynamics 365, Pipedrive, Sellsy and Zoho. If you run Dynamics, Sellsy or Zoho, Modjo covers ground we currently do not.

    • Modjo's pricing page states the product is optimal from three sales reps. Garba has no stated minimum, though the value compounds with the number of conversations flowing through it.

    • Yes, for the core sales use cases: capture, CRM updates, coaching, follow-ups and deal intelligence. BIMobject replaced 50+ Gong licences with Garba. If you are evaluating European alternatives to Gong more broadly, Modjo belongs on that shortlist too, and our comparison of the field covers it.

    About the author

    Marcus Norrving

    CEO & co-founder at Garba

Co-founded Garba after helping build Notified, the PR and investor-communications platform acquired by West Corp in 2019 - hiring the reps, running the pipeline, and writing the 9pm follow-ups. Started Garba in Malmö the moment AI could do that work instead of just recording it.

Modjo is a competitor. Every claim on this page about them was checked against modjo.ai's own pages in August 2026, not against third-party comparison posts, several of which publish Modjo pricing figures that Modjo does not. Something out of date or wrong? Email support@garba.ai and we will correct it.
